Kitchen Remodel in Monrovia, CA
Same kitchen, same layout — new cabinet fronts, quartz counters, backsplash, flooring and appliances throughout.
Kitchen finishes dated but the layout already works? The consultation is free.
What we found
Good layout, dated finishes
Oak cabinet fronts, laminate counters, no backsplash, a dome ceiling fixture and vinyl tile flooring — the corner layout, island position and window already worked; the finishes didn't.
The work
What the crew did, in order
Cabinet fronts swapped
New white shaker doors and drawer fronts on the existing cabinet boxes — same layout, same corners.
New flooring laid
Engineered hardwood throughout, protected under rosin paper while work continued.
Appliances set
Stainless suite installed in place of the old black suite, same footprint.
Counters templated & installed
Quartz across the perimeter, waterfall edge on the island.
Backsplash & lighting finished
Subway tile set, pendant lights and a new faucet installed.
How it ended
Same footprint, new finish
Nothing structural moved — the cabinet corners, window and island position are unchanged from before.
Illustrative progress sequence
Cabinet doors and drawer fronts came off the existing boxes first, along with the old flooring and backsplash. New fronts and flooring went in next, and the boxes were checked plumb and level before anything new was templated. Counters and backsplash stayed bare plywood and drywall until that templating was done, and the island was repainted with a plywood subtop while the quartz was cut. Pendant wiring was capped and left hanging until the fixtures went in last.
